Collaboration: Edition No. 1

Posted by Brooke Beaney on

Matt Wycoff & Erin Duffey have been our friends & collaborators for more than 7 years now.

Erin & I met as designers in New York. We met at a job interview that turned into a year of conversations, image/book/link/reference exchange, & vintage sharing in preparation for opening the shop. When we moved to Maine & JUDITH started to happen, even more references were shared, interior & logo details were deliberated, markets were attended & brand matrix debates ensued. Matt sourced, framed & curated art for our original space, as well as letting us showcase some of the first furniture he produced. Over the years we’ve been in constant exchange of ideas, inspiration, support & advice. JUDITH wouldn’t be what it is without them.

We are excited to have them as our first Collaboration series contributors, as we work to find new ways to continue creative conversations with our JUDITH collaborators despite the challenges of the times.

We sent Erin & Matt the 11.11/eleven eleven SS20 collection - A collection that we were proud to launch as their first east coast stockists this summer. Made in India of 100% Khadi cotton, 100% naturally dyed, with an emphasis on creating links between farmers, weavers, and vegetable dying traditions, eleven eleven/11.11 seeks to create beautiful, meaningful products by tracing the supply chain from seed to stitch, while ensuring the sustainability of local strengths. In a conversation with Mia Morikawa, the label’s creative director, she said they were continuously inspired by artists & nature. So we thought asking Erin & Matt to shoot the collection at their upstate home amidst their beautifully wild property & Matt’s artwork made sense.
